I no longer use it anymore.

When the smartphone started coming out, I pretty much stopped using the svp video camera. It still works but I just don't have a need to use it.

How to operate these cams?

http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras...

Question: Is there an actual manual online to show how to operate these cams?

Answer-
"What you may want to check first is to see what USB mode your camera is set on. On mine it has two settings, one for "mass storage" and one for "webcam." Make sure its set to mass storage, this allows you to just open up a folder and view all your pics, and you can copy and paste them to your computer. Switching modes is a bit of a task: first press the menu button, then push the little joy stick down, and scroll down to USB mode, then swich it, and press the menu button again. If you have it on this mode and it still doesn't work, then it'll probally take a little more of a complicated answer. What operating system are you using." - clay

Actually, for me- I just connect the USB wire thing from the camera *OFF* to the USB (computer) then turn on the camera. The camera/webcam software will turn ON (showing the icon on the taskbar) and will open a folder. If nothing then go to your "My Computer" folder and you'll might see camera/webcam folders in there.

SVP HDDV 2500 B-
1) Connect the wire from Camera to USB (computer)
2) Turn ON the camera
3) See the red square color "PC"on the camera, click the button.
4) PC Mode- it will show *PC Camera* and *Mass Storage*. You want PC Camera - click on it.
5) Computer should start opening up the webcam software/folder. It might will ask you what program to open the webcam.

Why it works for me but not for you?

Must be luck (I'm half Irish). I guess you might have bought it when it was new years ago or someone sold it to you as "NEW" but actually older used ones. I noticed many people bought from the same people: lindas_camera_world on eBay, 4nowinc.com (dead now), etc . I did not buy mine from them.

Using Video Camera As WebCam.

Does it works?

Yes. It works perfectly and I admit it works much better than my regular webcam - Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000. No I'm not kidding at all.

I can use it as webcam for AIM/AOL, Yahoo IM!, and MSN Messenger. All tested and worked great. Clean, fast and smooth.

I have a program which capture (take a picture of) the webcam and and upload them automatically every minute or few mins via ftp server to show on my website. The program is DaCamYo! - http://www.dacamyo.net/dacamyo.

Capture, upload and archive webcam images. Make your own webcam page and start a live session within 5 minutes.

This program is easy to use and includes a few features, you have probably never seen before. For example: style presets, archive tools, online slideshow and live memo as well as graphic effects like Mirror, Invert, Grayscale, Blur, Noise, Mosaic, Emboss, Spray, Blend, Mixup and many more. Also, you can combine and save different presets, to change the style of your live image instantly with one click.

For scheduled sessions and taskplaner support you may execute this program with various command lines. In "Record" mode you can capture timed images from any video input device and save them directly to a local folder or network drive, for example to use this software in an intranet environment.

Installing the Driver for SVP 2500

Many customers complained about unable to install the driver, view webcam from the camera, and etc. Customers are either stupid or just don't know tech stuffs. Well- there is nothing wrong with the camera for sure but don't bother using the automatic installer to install the drivers from CD.

Okay, several times I have tried to install the driver but didn't worked. Finally, I searched on google and found the website where someone mentioned that we should *MANUALLY* install the driver. *I could not find the website where I found this information. It either at forums.CNET.com or digitalcamera-hq.com. You just have to search for it there. "SVP" or "SVP ....your product name or #"

CD: Digital Camera And Digital Video (Driver & Application Software) for Windows 98/ME, 2000, and XP. I don't know if it works on Vista but someday I will try it.
